Roundup Public Schools Parents, Students, and Staff:
Governor Gianforte announced on Friday, February 12th, the mandatory mask mandate was to be lifted in Montana. The specific guidance given to schools is to follow recommendations from the Office of Public Instruction and our local Central Montana Health Department guidelines.
The Montana Department of Health and Human Services and Central Montana Health have provided the following contact tracing and quarantining guidelines specific to public schools:
* If both the infected person and the close contact(s) were wearing masks AT ALL TIMES during the exposure period, asymptomatic close contact(s) would be exempt from home quarantine and would be allowed to participate in school with the following restrictions:
** Activities requiring removing masks should only be done when any person identified as a contact can socially distance themselves appropriately.
Roundup Public Schools believes the above contact tracing and quarantine guidelines in conjunction with students and staff wearing face masks, will enable us to provide as much in-person direct instruction as possible with fewer quarantines. Therefore, Roundup Public Schools highly recommends all students, staff, and adults wear a mask in school buildings and on school provided transportation.
Some classrooms and school buses will be required to wear masks because social distancing is not possible and because some are at high risk.
Any further guidance from the Office of Public Instruction or Central Montana Health will be forwarded in a timely fashion. The Board of Trustees will again review Policy 1905 on Monday, March 8th at their regularly scheduled meeting.
Today a student didn't quite make it into the school this morning.
